hayride

lyrics

we're on a hay ride to the other side
too many stops, i can't ever decide
everybody's sayin' that the next stop's great
well let me talk it over with my friend called fate
well we talked too long that we missed the stop
all the passengers left for the new gift shop
after everyone leaves, there's a hundred more
just none quite like the other ones before

there's a steady stream of people
they're crossing paths with me
well hey, my name is zachary
what's yours?
and if i open myself up to you
i hope you do the same
'cuz this life's just too much
not to care

we're on a hay ride to the other side
don't know the driver, but we know how he drives
everybody's sayin' that the ride's too slow
they'd rather go by foot so that they're in control
so they hop off like baby birds from a nest
but their wings don't open, and they fall on their chests
after everyone leaves, there's a hundred more
just none quite like the other ones before

there's a steady stream of people
they're crossing paths with me
well hey, my name is zachary
what's yours?
and if i open myself up to you
i hope you do the same
'cuz this life's just too much
not to care
