lyrics

i've been wondering lately
how things get to be
and fall into place
but then float far from me

i'd tie bricks to them
if i had the rope or the time
but with distance and days
come flaws in design

i'll be breaking my neck
just to find a warm face
ill be biting my tongue
just to satisfy taste
there's always time to fix
things slowing your pace
with sleep and some paint
you'll find those things that you erased

can i ask for some smiles
from strange colorful faces
or words with some life
from new uncharted places

but when you're sitting around
so still like a tree
you're eating up minutes
like you're shedding off leaves

you'll be breaking your neck
just to find a warm face
you'll be biting your tongue
just to satisfy taste
there's always time to fix
things slowing my pace
with sleep and some paint
i'll find the things that i erased

i'm just hoping i'll find you

with all this lead in my mouth
i keep wishing i'd find you
